Hides from our Dexters

We don't like to waste any part of our animals after slaughter and so we pick our hides up on the day and take them to Exeter where they are preserved and treated before being tanned. It takes about 3 months before we then get our beautiful hides back. Predominantly they are used as rugs as they are tough and hard wearing as well as soft, warm and stunning, however they can also be used as a covering on a sofa or to hang on a wall or even to sleep on in bed!

Availability

We have just got back our first hide from our stunning pedigree dexter steer. It is black and as he was in his winter coat when he went for slaughter the hair is quite long and luxurious. We will sell this hide for £450. The price reflects the fact that these are one off peices from our small herd of pedigree dexters, which are farmed in tradtional ways with a focus on ethics and animal welfare.
